New Name, Woo Dis?

Pssst… you. Yeah, you! We have some news that’s worth breaking out confetti. Take a guess! No, we aren’t celebrating that the school year is almost over, but that’s still very exciting.

We’re excited to announce that we’re changing our social media account names to @FoodPigSooie!! And what better way to combine our two favorite things at the University of Arkansas than with food and the hogs?! We’re so much more than food, and we really want our name to reflect that.

Here’s what we’re all about:

Communication

Chartwells loves sharing ideas and fostering creativity. We are always searching for more ways to enhance all aspects of our business and services through our content and voice. We are happy when YOU are happy, and Chartwells strives to achieve that daily. Chartwells leaves lines of communication open for you to voice your opinion about our products and services. Social media, chalkboard walls, samplings, events and focus groups are some of the tools we utilize to reach and engage students.

Culinary

From grain bowls to tacos, there’s something for everyone on campus. Whether you’re looking for a quick, healthy snack or want to sit down for a hearty burger – our culinary team takes pride in their ability to prepare fresh, tasty and exciting food. Our chefs are passionate about what they do and love being able to share new, innovative dishes with you.

“A recipe is like a roadmap, it’s up to you to choose its course.” -Mat Belzano, Campus Executive Chef

Wellness

Chartwells and wellness go together like avocado and toast, but we understand that wellness means something different to each of us. It is our responsibility to provide foods that meet your desires and needs, but to also provide healthy foods and nutrition education to help develop long term eating habits. From making healthier choices in the dining halls to teaching you to cook, Chartwells wants to be a part of your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Sustainability

Chartwells is dedicated to serving the student body, including the ones a hundred years from now.  That is why we are so keen on sustainability with initiatives like locally sourced lettuce from the Freight Farm and reducing food waste pledges with Clean Plate. These actions not only help nourish and sustain our campus legacy, but also motivate us to be a solution to the issues that face us today.

Student Success

Not only is Chartwells responsible for fueling you with good food, we aim to grow you professionally. From mentorship to collaboration to internships, we want to help you put your best foot forward to begin your professional journey.

If you have a passion for food and people, Chartwells is right up your alley! We offer numerous internships from marketing to culinary and everything in between. Our internships have been the keys to our students’ success. Beginning Fall 2017, we are growing our internship team from 10 to 14 interns, providing over 6,700 hours to build professional skills and opportunities.

“If all we do is serve food, then we are not contributing to the mission of the university.” – Andrew C. Lipson, Resident District Manager

Celebrate with us!

Red, white, and woo! Oh my! We’re celebrating all things food and razorbacks this Thursday, April 27th at Brough Dining Hall from 11am to 1pm. Stop by for cannoli, cupcakes, and free swag!
